These procedures are performed in our clinic. Each page includes preparation steps, what to expect during the procedure, recovery instructions, and when to call us.

Diagnostic

Cystoscopy

Camera evaluation of the bladder and urethra. Used to diagnose hematuria, bladder tumors, urinary symptoms, and surveillance after bladder cancer treatment.

Urodynamics Study (UDS)

A test of bladder function used to evaluate urgency, frequency, urinary incontinence, retention, and incomplete emptying.

Biopsy

Transperineal Prostate Biopsy

Prostate tissue sampling via the perineum. Lower infection risk than transrectal approach. No bowel prep required.

Transrectal Prostate Biopsy

Prostate tissue sampling via the rectal wall under ultrasound guidance. Fleet enema required 1–2 hours before the procedure.

Procedure

Vasectomy

In-office male sterilization procedure. No-needle, no-scalpel technique with local anesthetic. Post-procedure rest for 48 hours recommended.

Injection

Bladder Botox Injection

Botulinum toxin injection into the bladder muscle for overactive bladder and urinary incontinence. Effect lasts 6–9 months.

Xiaflex (Peyronie’s Disease)

Injectable enzyme treatment for penile curvature caused by Peyronie’s disease. Up to 4 treatment cycles, each involving two injections and a modeling procedure.

Axonics / PNE Trial

Peripheral nerve evaluation trial for sacral neuromodulation. Temporary wire placed in office, worn 3–7 days to evaluate response before permanent implant.

Radiation Planning

Hydrogel Rectal Spacer

Barrigel or SpaceOAR placement between the prostate and rectum before radiation therapy to reduce rectal radiation dose and side effects.

General Reminders

Before Any Procedure

Contact your prescribing physician before stopping blood thinners

Each procedure page lists blood thinner hold instructions where applicable. Always check with the physician who prescribed your blood thinner before stopping any anticoagulant medication.

Notify us if you think you have a UTI

Many procedures involving the urinary tract should not be performed in the setting of an active infection. Contact our office before your appointment if you have symptoms of a urinary tract infection.

Bring your insurance card and co-pay

Your co-pay is due at every visit including procedure appointments. Bring your current insurance card and be prepared to pay at check-in.
