About Dr. Kim

Edward Kim, MD, is Professor of Urology at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. A long-time native of Chicago, Dr. Kim earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Northwestern University through the Honors Program in Medical Education. He completed his urology residency at Northwestern University in 1995.

Dr. Kim served as a fellow and Assistant Professor in Urology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he received fellowship training in andrology and male infertility. He is Chief Editor of E-Medicine Urology and serves on the editorial boards of several international urology journals.

Dr. Kim is the only fellowship-trained andrologist in East Tennessee, with a focused practice in vasectomy reversal, male infertility, erectile dysfunction, and comprehensive men’s health.

Andrology is the subspecialty of urology focused on male reproductive health and sexual function. Dr. Kim’s fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine gives him a depth of expertise in this area unmatched in the region.

Vasectomy & Vasectomy Reversal

In-office no-needle, no-scalpel vasectomy with optional nitrous oxide. Vasectomy reversal performed under microsurgical technique at UTMC — including vasovasostomy and epididymovasostomy. Dr. Kim is the only fellowship-trained andrologist in the region performing reversals.

Male Infertility

Comprehensive male factor infertility workup including semen analysis, hormonal evaluation, and genetic testing. Varicocele repair, sperm retrieval procedures, and coordination with reproductive endocrinology for couples pursuing family building.

Erectile Dysfunction & Penile Implant

Full spectrum of ED evaluation and treatment including oral medications, injection therapy, and inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP). Xiaflex injections for Peyronie’s disease. Dr. Kim performs IPP surgery as a primary implant surgeon alongside Dr. Lacy.

Men’s Health & Low Testosterone

Low testosterone evaluation and management including testosterone replacement therapy. Comprehensive men’s health assessment incorporating hormonal, metabolic, and sexual health factors. Sacral neuromodulation (Axonics) for voiding dysfunction.
